Hermann Papst is one of the colourful and universally talented German inventor-personalities of the last century. The successful engineer and entrepreneur became famous for his PAPST-External Rotor Motor for drive technology and fans. Hundreds of patents in diverse technological fields are registered in his name, from the improvement of loudspeakers and the invention of a new diesel engine up to a multi- purpose airship system. Furthermore he contributed an essay still valid today, in which he expresses his point of view on economical questions.
